其の独りを慎む。(『大学』傳六章)

他人が見ていない時にも言行を慎み、自らに恥じない振る舞いをするよう心掛けることだ。

We must be mindful of our words and actions, even when others are not looking, and behave in a manner that does not embarrass ourselves.
